Healdsburg senior Gabrielle Peterson placed fifth in the girls 3,200-meter state final and sixth in the 1,600-meter championship at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium. Peterson, who took 10th last year in the 1,600, clocked a personal-best 10:23.85 in the 3,200 and ran 4:51.86 in the 1,600 to become one of only two female athletes to place on the podium in both finals, along with fellow Oregon State signee Meagen Lowe of host Buchanan.
